Jim and I visited Plovdiv on Thursday and we had a look at all the interesting sights in Plovdiv.

This is old Roman ruins just along the road from the main street. There are many unexplained ruins such as these in Plovdiv.

This is a mural on the end of a wall in the Old Town of Plovdiv. This makes the building look very interesting and it certainly caught our eye.

This is the Roman ampitheatre in Plovdiv, it was built when the Romans made Plovdiv a provincial capital in the 2nd century.  It is very beautiful and we spent a lot of our time here!

This is the main street in Plovdiv, it is great for shopping as there are no cars! This photo was taken when we were sitting eating ice cream as the weather was absolutely lovely!

This is a statue in the middle of Plovdiv main street, it stands at about 20 feet above the crowds and is therefore quite an eyecatcher!

This is a photo of me reading the Bulgarian description on the statue of a chinese man, monkey and dog.
